Daily Star finds a new kind of pregnancy test

If I edited a newspaper, I’d make it a matter of course to ensure that whatever story was put on the front page was as iron-clad and as close to the truth as possible.

Dawn Neesom, editor of Richard Desmond’s rogue newspaper, the Daily Star, has no such qualms:

So, one would ascertain from reading that headline that Jordan is pregnant, yes?

Jordan’s new honey blonde hair is a secret signal that she is finally pregnant again, her fans reckon.

Ah.

Yes, the whole story, written by Gemma Wheatley, really is based on the speculation of some of Jordan’s fans who seem to have misinterpreted a joke she once made:

She dropped the giant hint as she revealed her honey blonde locks in Las Vegas at the weekend while cosying up to boxer Amir Khan after his fight.

And last night fans were wild with speculation of an announcement soon.

In an interview, Kate, 32, said: “I’ve always happened to be blonde when I’m pregnant. It’s really weird.

“So worry if I’m blonde!”

After hearing of the Star’s pathetic story this morning, Jordan tweeted:

With journalistic standards like this, no wonder Richard Desmond wants to withdraw the Daily Star from the scrutiny of the Press Complaints Commission

Still, there is one saving grace to this nonsense – at least the Star isn’t focusing on demonising Muslims today

I'd be just as worried about the blurb for the Man United v Arsenal game, unless of course you sneaked this page out early from your production desk! Gasp!
